Chocolate Muffins/Brownies/what????

Once upon a time, Michelle had a chocolate craving.  Michelle also had a chocolate muffin mix.  Thus, it was determined that Michelle should use the chocolate muffin mix to satisfy her chocolate craving.
So, Michelle poured and cracked, mixed and stirred, and voila!  A chocolate muffin mix was made.

Now, Michelle was about to pour the mix into the muffin tin when she had an idea.  Why not make the muffin mix into cookies?  Then, Michelle realized that the muffin mix was much too thin to create cookies.  So instead, Michelle pulled the pan out of the toaster oven, and decided to make the muffin mix into brownies. She poured the mix into the pan, and spread it out, and was worried because it looked very thin.  But, her roommate Emily convinced her that it would be fine, and just to try it.  So, Michelle put the pan in the oven and set the timer for 11 minutes.  When the 11 minutes were up, Michelle pulled the pan out of the oven, and to her surprise, the muffin mix had risen to almost fill the pan!

Then, Emily had an idea.  Emily took some bittersweet chocolate chunk stuff she had, along with some yummy mint chips, put them into a Pyrex measuring cup, and melted them together in the microwave.  After one minute in the microwave, they weren't very melted.  So, Emily put it back in the microwave for another minute.  After this, they looked a little more melted, but not by much.

By now, Rachel had come in and inquired what was going on.  Emily and Michelle told her of their baking adventures thus far, and then Rachel suggested stirring the chocolate-mint mixture to make it melt better.  So, Emily stirred the mixture, and indeed, it was a lot more melted than she thought.  However, it was a very strange consistency, and gave off a strange smell when stirred.  The mixture was about the consistency and texture of Yoplait Whips Chocolate Mousse style yogurt, and smelled like... Well, it just smelled strange.  So, Emily tried putting it back in the microwave for another minute to melt it completely. When she pulled it out of the microwave, nothing had changed, except that it was even hotter than before.

The chocolate-mint mixture was still giving off a strange smell, and looked rather dry, so Rachel suggested adding milk to the mixture.  As Emily poured milk into the measuring glass, it gave off a strange sizzling noise, but Emily mixed it together, and it started to look more like it was supposed to.  Alas, it was too runny to pour on top of the muffin/brownies, so Emily stuck it in the freezer, hoping to get it to cool down and thicken up a bit.  Eventually, it did so, and was thick enough to drizzle on top of the muffin/brownie.  And oh boy, did it look yummy.

So, we cut it up with none other than the Cutco Spatula Spreader (which is absolutely amazing, just by the way. It cuts AND serves, and it's super flexible, and makes cool noises.), and served it up.  It turned out to be pretty darn good. :)

Sadly, there are no pictures to document this, but, we had leftover chocolate/mint/milk stuff, and it was really really good just plain, so, we ate it. :)

Next time, we will turn brownie mix into cookies.  (At least, that's the idea.)
